9 Surprising Male Erogenous Zones

You know the usual places that turn your husband on, but when it comes to the most erogenous zones of his body, are you hitting the right places? We spoke to the experts to hear about the surprising male pleasure spots you might be missing.
1. Feet
Get him to take his socks off, grab the lotion and get rubbing. “Men love foot massages,” says Ian Kerner, PhD, a New York City sex expert and the author of many books, including She Comes First. Additionally, according to the ancient practice of reflexology, the heels of the feet are believed to be pressure points that can trigger sexual arousal. Want to up the ante? Dr. Kerner suggests brushing his feet against your mouth or breasts, which can really get him excited. Photo: Thinkstock

2. Ears
“Many men love when their ears are touched,” says Amy Levine, a New York City–based sex coach, certified sexuality educator and founder of IgniteYourPleasure.com. “It’s often a forgotten area that can soothe or excite him.” Just place your thumb and index finger on the spot where his ear lobe connects to the tissue near his face, she says. “Then, gently pull down and let your fingers slide off so you can start again.” Photo: Thinkstock

3. The Back of the Knees
It’s a tickle spot, yes, but in the heat of the moment, the back of the knees can also be a pleasure spot. “The skin is smoother at the back of knee, and many men love to be kissed or caressed there,” says Dr. Kerner, who notes that areas like this, where there is less hair, are often more sensitive and exciting for men. Plus, he adds, even gentle touch can lead to fireworks. “Orgasm is buildup and release of sexual tension, so the more tension you build up, the greater the release,” he explains. To amp up his anticipation, lightly touch the back of the knees with your fingertips in a circular motion, being sure to keep your touch firm. Photo: Thinkstock

4. Lower Abs
Start at his belly button and work your hands south, suggests Dr. Kerner. “The area of the abdomen between the navel and pelvis is a fun area to tantalize, and as blood flows to the pelvis and sexual tension gathers, it’s a good area to simulate,” he says, adding that “by going from genitals to other areas and then back again you will develop sexual tension throughout the body.” Photo: iStockphoto

5. Inner Thighs
Think of his inner thighs as the “gift wrapping to his package,” recommends Levine, who says that light touching in this zone can get him in the mood—fast. Here’s how: “Slowly move your fingertips up and down his inner thighs,” she says. “Then, tease him by following the outline of the crevice of his thigh, sensuously moving your index and middle finger up and down this hot spot for a few strokes before pressing the palm of your hand on the top of his thigh to start again with your fingertips.” Photo: Thinkstock

6. The Mind
Whisper something sexy in his ear, says Barbara Bartlik, MD, a New York City–based sex therapist. The mind is a powerful erogenous zone for men, she says. “Very recent, innovative research suggests that a heightened state of arousal in the generalized central nervous system (the brain) facilitates sexual arousal.” When his mind begins to get excited, his body follows suit. 7. Eyelids
When his eyes are closed, kissing or rubbing his eyelids gently can show him that you love him—and also drive him wild, says Dr. Kerner. Why? When his eyes are closed, you’re in control, which is an experience a lot of men enjoy, he explains. “If a move or touch is in the context of a dominant woman it can be a totally different—and pleasurable—experience for a man.” Try lightly running your fingers around his eyes and eye sockets, then kissing the area lightly, while he lies with his eyes closed, recommends Levine. 8. Nape of the Neck
Using a feather, your fingers or any gentle touch on his neck and collarbone area can increase his arousal, says Dr. Kerner, who advises mixing things up. “Think about stimulating two areas at once,” he says. For example, rubbing his neck lightly or nibbling on an earlobe while also running your hands southward. “Think creatively about combination.” Photo: Thinkstock

9. Forehead
His forehead may not seem like a sexy spot, but try to “think of the male body as a totally erogenous landscape,” says Dr. Kerner. After all, the head and scalp are covered with nerve endings, and lightly massaging from his hairline to his forehead can trigger feel-good hormones like dopamine and serotonin that may just get him in the mood.

Final lunar eclipse of 2010 set for early morning of December 21

Skygazers hoping to catch the last lunar eclipse of 2010 on Tuesday morning best be ready to stay up late (or wake up very early) to watch the full moon as it goes through a range of dramatic color changes. The December 21 lunar eclipse is expected to last about three-and-a-half hours from its start as a partial eclipse at 1:33 a.m. ET to its finish at 5:01 a.m. ET, according to NASA. The previous lunar eclipse occurred June 26 . During a lunar eclipse, the moon, the Earth, and the sun align so that the sun's rays are shielded from the moon. An eclipse of the moon can only take place if the moon is full, and only if the moon passes through some portion of Earth's shadow, which is composed of two cone-shaped parts, one nested inside the other. The start of the total eclipse is expected around 2:41 a.m, when the entire moon passes through the Earth's umbra, or inner shadow, which blocks all direct sunlight from reaching the moon. The moon will tak...

Men With Breast Cancer Face Worse Prognosis

Men who are diagnosed with breast cancer are more likely than female patients to die in the next 15 years, researchers report. "This may be due to a difference in tumor characteristics and treatment," says study leader Hui Miao, a PhD candidate at the National University of Singapore. Male breast cancer is rare, accounting for less than 1% of all breast cancers in the U.S. Given its scarcity, few studies have assessed its prognosis "and we know of no recent studies looking at trends in survival," Miao tells WebMD. So Miao and colleagues studied 459,846 women and 2,664 men diagnosed with breast cancer in Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Norway, Singapore, and Sweden between 1970 and 2007. Among the findings, presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium: Men were diagnosed at an older age: 69 vs. 61 for women. Twice as many men had later stage III or IV disease: 18% vs. 9% of women. Only 25% of men were alive 15 years after diagnosis, compared with 44...
